We are collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, service providers, and people with lived experience, to develop a nationally consistent clinical database template for FASD assessment and diagnosis.

The template is intended to support the standardised collection of assessment and diagnostic information across services and jurisdictions. By promoting greater consistency in clinical data collection, the database will help improve the quality and comparability of information available for service planning, clinical practice, quality improvement, and research.

A nationally consistent approach will also strengthen our understanding of FASD in Australia by enabling the collection of more comprehensive and reliable data on assessment pathways, diagnostic outcomes, and the needs of individuals undergoing assessment.
