Does your child with autism (aged 5-10 years) suffer from tummy or bowel problems?
Constipation, diarrhoea, pain, bloating, flatulence or foul stools?
If so, we would love to chat with you about the possibility of your child taking part in research sponsored by the University of Queensland. We are investigating the effectiveness of a gut-brain treatment approach to reduce tummy/bowel problems for these children with possible flow-on effects to anxiety and autism symptoms. The treatments will aim to alter the gut microbiome (gut bacteria) and/or normalise gut-brain communication.
Eligibility criteria:
- Confirmed autism diagnosis
- Aged between 5-10 years
- Tummy/bowel problems
- Verbal
- Based in Brisbane
