
Ms Laura Marriott is a Clinical and Research Scientist in Respiratory, Sleep and Neurophysiology. With a strong foundation in biomedical and clinical science, she brings extensive experience across major Queensland health institutions including Mater Hospital, RBWH, QCH, and SCUH. Her clinical expertise spans adult and paediatric sleep studies, respiratory diagnostics, neurophysiological testing, and advanced patient care technologies.
Ms Marriott is actively engaged in innovative research, including the evaluation of the Sonomat and Sunrise mandibular movement devices as non-contact alternatives to traditional polysomnography for diagnosing sleep-disordered breathing in paediatric patients with neurodisability.
Ms Marriott holds a Graduate Diploma in Medical Science, and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, and is a member of multiple professional associations. Her leadership roles include Chair of the Queensland Health Statewide Clinical Measurements Network – Sleep Sub-Committee, ANZSRS Regional Chair (Queensland), ANZSSA Conference and Grants Taskforce Committee representative, and most recently co-founding ANZCPEH – a nation first multi-disciplinary Clinical Physiology Day aimed to deliver practical skills and exceptional education across respiratory, sleep, neurophysiology, and cardiac sciences. Ms Marriott is a passionate advocate for healthy equity and professional education, and has received academic recognition for excellence in physiology and pharmacology.
