Ms Teodora Espinoza

Mrs Teodora Espinoza is a Sleep Scientist at the Child Health Research Centre. She holds a Master’s degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and a Bachelor’s in Physics, bringing a strong foundation in data analysis, EEG, research design, and science communication. Ms Espinoza has lived and worked in Japan, Mexico, Thailand, and Australia, embracing cultural diversity and a global perspective in her research approach, which is guided by curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to meaningful, purpose-driven work.
Her background spans interdisciplinary projects including neurofeedback video game design for children with autism, garden design and emotional well-being, VR simulations of vertigo in architecture, and cognitive bias in decision-making. Her current research focuses on innovative sleep monitoring technologies and data-driven studies, such as evaluating a wireless mat for non-invasive physiological monitoring during sleep, assessing concordance between diagnostic methods in paediatric sleep studies, and administering the REDCap database while supporting statistical analysis using R.
